The Quips of a Follower of Buddha
Look at today’s tide of learning Buddhism: temples stand in great numbers all over the mountainside;
Pilgrims swarm into and around temples, but few of them can sincerely repent to eliminate bad karmas.
Some boast that they know everything in the world, yet they attain nothing at all;
Some speak deceiving words in the name of convenience and expedience, but they just play on words.
If you have no real achievement, you shall not sermon or play tricks by deliberately confounding right and wrong;
Otherwise it would be too late to repent when the ghost of impermanence comes.
It is useless to seek ancient books, study mystic omens, or even know everything about every dynasty;
To break out of samsara, you must personally prove the perfection of wisdom and not be deceived by phenomena.
The Bodhi way can only be achieved with sufficient sambhara, and the key is to persevere in efforts with one dharma;
If you keep at the three essentials, you will certainly attain the most perfect wisdom.
